At a glance: Dr Shahzadi Harper is a menopause doctor who is interested helping women balance their hormones and optomise their health in the peri-menopause and menopause. She speaks regularly on the Menopause, health benefits of Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) and Vaginal Laser

Dr Shahzadi Harper is a dynamic GP with an interest in optimising women’s health and wellbeing. Especially during difficult periods of hormonal changes such as perimenopause and menopause.
Taking a holistic and positive approach to women’s wellbeing and the menopause, she works to empower women of all backgrounds and ethnicities by giving them the information they need to make informed choices on hormonal treatments for their optimal health and longevity – so they can continue to look and feel their best.
She understands the symptoms and concerns that women face in these times as she herself is one of six sisters and has a grown up daughter.
Dr Harper’s areas of expertise include Perimenopause, Menopause, vaginal health and laser treatment for vaginal rejuvenation, post menopausal dryness and stress urinary incontinence.
She is a firm believer in the early management of symptoms of the perimenopause and menopause to help women stay youthful and healthy in the long term.
Dr Harper is often called upon to give educational lectures to GPs and has spoken on:
- Menopause, Mood and Sex;
- Menopause Myths and HRT- Putting the Risks of HRT into Perspective;
- Mood Disorder during the Menopause Transition;
- Breast cancer and HRT.
She has also given Podcasts for women on:
- How to adopt a positive approach to the management of their menopause;
- Weight gain and Hormonal imbalance;
- Vaginal dryness and Laser treatment (Femilift) as an alternative or adjunct to HRT;
- Contraception in the Perimenopause.
Dr Harper has also acted as an Advisor on best practise for women going through the menopause transition in the workplace to companies – such as Coutts bank and Mylan pharmaceuticals.
She is a graduate of University College London (1994) and is an experienced GP having worked in Oxford and London, Over the last few years, however, she has dedicated herself to women’s hormonal wellbeing.
Dr Harper makes sure she is up-to-date with the latest studies and regularly attends conferences around the world so she can ensure her patients get the best possible individualised care.
Her endearing nature and calming clinic environment ensures her clients are comfortable discussing topics they may sometimes shy away from such as low libido, stress incontinence, vaginal dryness and painful sex.
