Following specialist training Nadia completed a two-year Fellowship in UroGynaecology and Minimal Access (Keyhole) Surgery at the University Hospital of Wales. She has a passion for learning from experts directly and was fortunate to spend time in the USA with world renowned surgeons Professor Bobby Shull, Dr John Miklos and Dr Robert Moore.
Cosmetic Gynaecology: During her UroGynaecology training she developed not only an interest in the function and the correction of pelvic floor disorders but also the aesthetic appearance. This interest was initially driven by looking after women who had sustained perineal and vulval trauma as a result of childbirth that had not healed well or had altered the original appearance. Nadia recognised the huge emotional and psychological impact this had on women and strived to offer non-surgical and surgical treatments to help these women and reduce their distress.
Subsequently she developed an interest in working with women who were just unhappy with the external appearance of the vulva particularly the labia, not related to childbirth, and describing that sex no longer felt the same with no evidence of prolapse. She believes that there should be impartial, non-judgmental and holistic support to help women achieve their realistic desires.
To further her skills Nadia returned to the USA to focus on the surgical and non-surgical cosmetic gynaecology treatments with Dr Miklos and Dr Moore in Atlanta. She subsequently returned to California completing advanced training with Dr Red Alinsod, one of the best Cosmetic Gynaecologists in the world. He is the inventor of the Lone Star Retractor and patent holder for ThermiVa.
Nadia Bhal has taken everything she has learnt from her mentor’s Dr Alinsod, Dr Miklos and Dr Moore into her practice and is proud to be one of the only two trained Cosmetic Gynaecologists in Wales alongside Mr Kiron Bhal.
